New adventures are brewing!
Fletch and I will be in Oman, working at a dive resort with our good friends Stefan and Tanja for the next month and a half. They are stationed there long-term and invited us to come out and help during their busy season (the month of September). “Oman?” you say, “That’s crazy!” you say. “Who goes to Oman? Also, where even is Oman?” Oman is a country, and one of only 11 that has 4 letters in its English name. (I’ll give you a minute to think of the other 10). It is also the only country that starts with the letter O. As to where it is, you can probably picture the boot that is the Arabian Peninsula, about to kick Iran or Pakistan across the gulf. Oman is at the toe of that boot.
“But isn’t that super dangerous?”
Surprisingly no, and believe me, Fletch and I did our research before we agreed to the position. I read numerous accounts from solo, female travelers, and discovered a staggering number of glowing reviews. I don’t even have to worry about the ‘solo’ aspect of that. I also read various crime reports, ranking Oman next to the rest of the countries in the world, and believe it or not, it is actually one of the safer places we will have been to. So we figured, why not? When will we ever get another excuse to go to that area of the world? And I’m all about seeing the corners of the world less traveled.
So stay tuned! Exciting new content is just around the corner!
